Humidifiers can help people sleep better, breathe more easily, and feel more comfortable in dry weather and during times of illness. They add moisture to the air in a quiet manner, and also allow you to soothe dry sinuses. Humidifiers also work well in homes that have a lot of plants, as they keep foliage moist and green!

Please read through the Question & Answers below to learn more about humidifiers. For more informations contact us.

1. Why use a humidifier?

2. How does dry air affect my body and furniture?

3. What do I need to do to run a humidifier?

4. Will cool mist humidifiers cause health problems?

5. What noise level can I expect from my humidifier?

1. Why use a humidifier?

Humidifying an area keeps the air from drying to the point where it begins to cause damage. Extremely dry air can damage furniture, electronics (through static buildup), and even your skin and hair. Most humidifiers can be adjusted to humidify the air to a level that you find comfortable that fits your situation which is perfect for both dry winter months and occasional dry conditions. Higher humidity also helps your body feel warmer. Keeping a room at 40% relative humidity instead of 20%, will make the room seem several degrees warmer. The warmer the air feels, the more you can turn down the heater and save money

2. How does dry air affect my body and furniture?

Without proper humidity levels the air becomes, in a sense, "thirsty" for water. Dry, thirsty, air will actually absorb moisture from any object it can including wooden furniture, your skin and your hair. With furniture, too little moisture and the wood begins to become brittle and crack. The same things happen with your body. Too little humidity in the air and your skin will become dry and cracked, your hair will dry out as well resulting in more split ends and "frizzy" hair days. Furniture finishes help slow this problem with furniture as does moisturizing lotion and proper conditioning with the body, but these only treat the symptoms.

3. What do I need to do to run a humidifier?

Fill the unit with water, plug the humidifier in, and turn it on. Some humidifiers may also have other settings you can set such as timers and/or target humidity levels. The water will need to be refilled as it is drained from the tank, and the tank may need occasional washings depending on the style of humidifier.

4. Will cool mist humidifiers cause health problems?

As long as the humidifier is kept clean, there should be no problems regarding health with cool mist humidifiers. While cool mist humidifiers do not boil water like the warm mist units, standard cool mist units use a synthetic, anti-bacterial pad to evaporate water and ultrasonic humidifiers transmit energy to the water through high-frequency vibrations (well above human, and most animal, hearing) that can help break up any bacteria present

5. What noise level can I expect from my humidifier?

Ultrasonic humidifiers are virtually silent. There are almost no moving parts in them and the ultrasonic vibrations are very high frequency. Cool mist and warm mist humidifiers depend on a fan to push the moist air from the unit and do make a small amount of noise. A few humidifiers still use a water pump to push water from the tank into the evaporation chamber. These units sound something like a fish tank without the bubbling, but are not loud.
